On a big site, the most expensive question is often the simplest: where is it?

Where is the material trolley, the reel, the tool, the vehicle. When the answer lives in someone's head or on a paper register, things go missing, searches waste hours, and production waits. And the usual fix — Wi-Fi or SIM trackers everywhere — falls apart across a large plant where signal is patchy and running cable is not an option.

Uminber Designs builds industrial IoT that works in these real conditions. We use LoRaWAN — a long-range, low-power radio technology — to cover a whole plant or yard without depending on mobile signal, and we tie the tracking straight into dashboards and ERP so the data is useful, not just blinking. We are on-site for this: field and floor work is where IoT is won or lost, and we have it running in live production.

A tracking layer that reaches the wide open floor.

We build a private network you own — long-range radio tags on the assets that go missing, a live floor plan for the operators who chase them, and an ERP link so the count updates itself. It is engineered on-site for the conditions of a real Indian plant or yard, not a lab.

  • Private LoRaWAN network — gateways, tags and coverage across the whole site
  • Live asset and material tracking on a map or floor plan
  • GPS fleet tracking with route history and honest ETAs
  • RFID gates for hands-free check-in, check-out and stock movement
  • Telemetry dashboards, thresholds and alerts an operator can act on
  • Native ERP and inventory integration — no second island to manage

/ What we do

Tracking that reaches the whole site.

Six capabilities, deployed in the field — from a private LoRaWAN network to RFID gates and telemetry dashboards.

LoRaWAN networks

LoRaWAN gives you kilometres of range on tiny battery-powered tags, without SIMs or Wi-Fi at every corner. We design and deploy the gateways, tags and network so a whole plant or yard is covered on infrastructure you own. This is the backbone we use for large-site tracking — a leading cable manufacturer runs LoRa material tracking we built (named client; public use by permission).

Asset & material tracking

We tag the things that go missing — trolleys, reels, tools, WIP material — and show them live on a map or floor plan. Instead of a person walking the yard to find stock, the system tells you where it is and when it last moved. For a major cable manufacturer this replaced a manual, error-prone material hunt with live position data.

GPS fleet tracking

For vehicles and deliveries on the road, we build GPS fleet tracking with live location, route history and alerts. Dispatch sees where trucks are, customers get honest ETAs, and disputes get settled with data. We have delivered live vehicle tracking, including a project for a major automotive OEM built jointly with Honest IT Group (named client; public use by permission).

RFID tracking

Where you need to log items passing a fixed point — a gate, a dispatch bay, a store issue counter — RFID reads tags fast and hands-free. We deploy RFID for check-in and check-out, stock movement and access, and feed every read into your inventory or ERP so the count is automatic. It pairs well with LoRa: RFID for gates, LoRa for the wide open floor.

Sensor & telemetry dashboards

IoT is only useful when a human can act on it. We build the dashboards and alerts that sit on top of the sensors — live status, history, thresholds and notifications — so an operator sees a problem before it becomes a stoppage. Temperature, movement, utilisation, whatever you are measuring, presented for the decision it drives.

IoT + ERP integration

Tracking that does not reach your systems is a second island to manage. We wire IoT data into your ERP and inventory so a tag moving on the floor updates stock, location and status automatically. This closes the loop between the physical plant and the software running it — the same discipline we bring to the ERP itself.

/ What changes

From a manual hunt to a live answer.

The point of tracking is not the tag — it is the hour your team stops losing and the stoppage they see coming.

Live
Where is it, now
Trolleys, reels, tools and vehicles on a map instead of in someone's head.
Hours
Searches that vanish
No one walks the yard to find stock — the system already knows where it moved.
Own it
No signal dependency
LoRaWAN covers wide sites on infrastructure you control, not a patchy SIM or Wi-Fi.
Auto
Stock updates itself
A tag moving on the floor updates inventory, location and status in the ERP.
/ How we work

Survey first. Then deploy.

IoT is won on the floor — we prove coverage on a small zone before committing the whole site.

01 · Survey

Site survey

We walk the plant or yard, measure coverage and signal, and understand what actually needs tracking and why.

02 · Design

Design the network

We choose the right mix — LoRaWAN, GPS, RFID — and design gateway and tag placement for real coverage, not a brochure.

03 · Pilot

Prove it

We prove it on a small zone or a few assets first, so you see accuracy before committing to the whole site.

04 · Roll out

Deploy & connect

We deploy across the site, tag the assets, and connect the data to dashboards and ERP.

05 · Operate

Operate & maintain

We tune coverage, replace batteries on schedule and support the system as your floor changes.

/ Why Uminber

Deployed, not theoretical.

Most IoT decks stay in the deck. Ours is on the floor, surveyed and piloted before a single site-wide commitment.

On the floor, in production

IoT is won in the field — so that is where we work.

We do not sell you a brochure network. We walk the plant, prove coverage on a small zone, and only then roll out across the site — then stay on to tune it as your floor changes.

  • Live on real plant floors — LoRa material tracking and vehicle tracking in production for large industrial clients
  • Works without good signal — wide-site coverage on infrastructure you own, not patchy mobile or Wi-Fi
  • Data you can act on — dashboards, alerts and ERP links so IoT drives decisions instead of blinking in a corner
  • On-site engineering — we survey, pilot, deploy and maintain in the field

/ FAQ

Things you might be wondering.

What is LoRaWAN and why use it instead of Wi-Fi or SIM trackers?
LoRaWAN is a long-range, low-power radio technology that covers kilometres on small battery tags without SIMs or Wi-Fi at every corner. Across a large plant or yard where mobile signal is patchy and cabling is impractical, it gives reliable coverage on infrastructure you own — which is exactly why we use it for large-site material tracking.
Can you track material and assets across a large plant?
Yes. We tag trolleys, reels, tools and work-in-progress material and show them live on a floor plan, so no one walks the yard to find stock. We have this running in production for a leading cable manufacturer, where it replaced a manual, error-prone material hunt with live position data.
Do you offer GPS fleet tracking for vehicles?
Yes. We build GPS fleet tracking with live location, route history and alerts so dispatch always knows where vehicles are and customers get honest ETAs. We have delivered live vehicle tracking including a project for a major automotive OEM, built jointly with Honest IT Group.
Can IoT tracking connect to our ERP or inventory system?
Yes, and this is where it pays off. We wire IoT data into your ERP and inventory so a tag moving on the floor updates stock, location and status automatically, closing the loop between the physical plant and the software running it. We build the ERP too, so the integration is native rather than bolted on.
Do you handle installation and maintenance on-site?
Yes. Industrial IoT is field work — we survey the site, design gateway and tag placement for real coverage, pilot on a small zone, then roll out across the plant. We stay on to tune coverage, replace batteries on schedule and support the system as your floor layout changes.
